Privacy policy

Gibb Ritchie Geotechnical Engineers Limited ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we handle personal information under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

What we collect

When you contact us or send an enquiry through this website, we collect the details you give us: your name, phone number, email address, site address, project details and any files you attach. If you apply for a job, we collect your CV and the information in your application.

How we use it

We use your information to respond to your enquiry, prepare proposals, carry out and manage our work for you, and meet our legal and professional obligations. We do not sell your information or use it for unrelated marketing.

Where it is stored

Forms on this website are delivered by email to our team through Microsoft 365. Enquiries, applications and project information are stored in our Microsoft 365 systems, which are protected with access controls and multi-factor sign-in. Job applications are only seen by our directors. If your application is unsuccessful, we keep it for 12 months in case a suitable role comes up, then delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner.

Cookies and website analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used: for example, which pages are visited, how people find us, and how many enquiries the site produces. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, device and browser. It does not give us your name or contact details, and we don't use it to identify you.

We have set Google Analytics up to limit what it collects: advertising features and Google Signals are switched off, and detailed data is deleted after two months. Google may process this information outside New Zealand. You can block analytics cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's opt-out add-on.

Spam protection

To stop automated spam, our forms may use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person, not a bot, is filling them in. It looks at technical information about your browser and connection, and is not used for advertising.

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you. Contact us at info@gibbritchie.co.nz or 09 218 6915. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
