
About the Role
As a Project Geotechnical Engineer / Engineering Geologist, you will work as part of our technical delivery team, managing and delivering a broad range of geotechnical projects across investigation, assessment, design and reporting.
Key responsibilities include:
Deliver geotechnical investigations, assessments, designs and reports
Develop and refine ground models and technical interpretations
Manage projects or significant components of larger projects
Review and support work completed by graduate and early-career staff
Communicate clearly with clients and project stakeholders
Take responsibility for programme, budget and quality outcomes
Work in accordance with company quality, health, safety and environmental systems
Support mentoring and development of junior staff
Actively engaging in professional development and CPD
Build relationships with clients and contribute to work winning
You’ll work with experienced professionals who provide support and feedback as needed, while you continue to develop confidence, capability and professional judgement.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology
Typically 4–10 years relevant geotechnical experience
Eligible for, progressing toward, or already holding Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or Professional Engineering Geologist status (PEngGeol)
Strong understanding of geotechnical investigation, ground modelling, analysis and reporting
Ability to deliver technically sound work with minimal supervision
Good IT capability, including strong use of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Word), confidence working with data, and ability to use or learn specialist geotechnical, CAD and analysis software
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage your own workload, priorities and deadlines
Project management experience
Commitment to quality systems, safe work practices and professional standards
Full NZ driver’s license and ability to undertake site work
Eligibility to work in New Zealand
